What is What is
BaFa' BaFa': Managing Diversity and Inclusion?
A highly engaging simulation that allows employees to
experience diversity by becoming a part of a mock culture.
Utilizing BaFa' BaFa', the facilitator helps participants
look at their organization through a “different
set of lenses.” The experience enables participants
to examine the values, beliefs, attitudes, and practices
that exist in their organization and potentially present
barriers to maximizing a diverse workforce. A post-simulation
analysis and discussion help participants understand
their experience, and relate it to their role within
the organization. The experience also creates a new
awareness of and appreciation for “differences”
in the workplace. BaFa' BaFa' is an exceptional tool
that opens the door for frank discussions about diversity
issues within the organization in a safe and constructive
environment.
What makes BaFa' BaFa' different
from traditional diversity workshops?
BaFa' BaFa' is different from traditional approaches
to diversity training which focus on EEO compliance
typically designed to correct past discrimination. These
approaches often result in unintended consequences such
as resentment, blame, and hurt feelings; with limited
impact on participant behavior or mind set. BaFa' BaFa'
helps organizations implement practices that add value
to the business and prevent potential acts of discrimination.
BaFa' BaFa' is not a workshop that is taught, but
rather; it unveils itself, and lays the groundwork for
insight, discussion, and action by having participants
experience diversity. |
